Agent: Bursting bottles/syphons under CO₂ pressure (mechanical injury)

Health effects: Lacerations, eye injury, facial/hand trauma from flying glass; not a chronic toxic-exposure operation.

Controls & PPE

Engineering controls: Fencing/guarding of bottling and filling machines; bursting-resistant enclosures; bottle inspection.

PPE: Face-guards/visors and gauntlets (statutorily required by Schedule I); eye protection.
