Maximum weight a worker may lift or carry (Section 34)
No woman or young person may, unaided, lift, carry or move by hand or head any material exceeding these limits.
Statutory basis: Schedule under Section 34
Section 34 of the Factories Act 1948 (with the State Rules) prescribes the maximum weight that may be lifted, carried or moved manually, by age and sex.
